Dermaplaning uses a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently ‘shave’ the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, velous hair (aka peach fuzz).
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT?
Your practitioner uses a small, sterile blade while holding the skin taut, moving the blade in a gentle upward motion. The blade is used on clean, dry skin on the forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair. As Derma planing is non-invasive it has a low risk of complications and is one of the safest skin rejuvenation procedures available. Some patients report redness or a dry feeling in their skin after a treatment, but this is temporary.

The amount of treatments is dependent on why you are undergoing this procedure. Usually treatments are recommended once every 4-6 weeks to allow regrowth of the hair and cell turnover.
